Alum stone
a-per©alum deodorant is composed of natural mineral alunite. The stone contains no other additives such as fragrances, dyes, or preservatives. The alum has astringent and antiseptic properties, which explains the use as a deodorant: Due to its sealing properties the formation of sweat and due to its disinfectant properties the bacteria and odor formation is slowed down. The astringent characteristics also manifest themselves as styptic, which is the reason why alum stone has also proven itself for the use as an aftershave.
